Q
did you figure out the Mario Badescu samples? I tried to get some but I don't think it worked because they never emailed me.

I did!

It took a few days for them to email me but they just sent an email offering samples then after clicking the provided link I got mine in a little less than two weeks :)

If anyone has gotten the customized samples from Mario Badescu, can you message me?

I have a question about how it works because I am not sure if I did it right :)

I’ll have a bunch of skin care product reviews within the next month or so but I found a line of products that I think are truly great for my skin and will probably stick with it.

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream Review:

BB Creams were something I really was confused about because I didn’t know what they were and they came on so fast that I was a bit behind on the whole thing because I assumed it was some sort of gimmick. It’s not :P

BB Creams are a primer, moisturizer and sheer foundation built in one and they are supposed to improve the overall appearance and health of your skin. Clinique makeup is great for sensitive skins so I figured if I were to try one out, I’d try out Clinique!

These come in about 4 shades, unfortunately. So the range isn’t that great but these are very blendable and I would guess that they could work for a range of skin colors. I am shade one and it matched my skin really wonderfully.

The coverage is pretty good for a tinted moisturizer, additional concealer might be needed for problem areas. The formula itself is thick until you begin blending, when it becomes light as air.

I’ve used this without powder and it does not oxidize on me and it didn’t seem to fade or disappear or even crease either. I’d give this an 8 hour life span, which is around the average length a person is wearing makeup anyways.

I think for the summer this could be a great product if you like a really dewy finish. I personally don’t like the dewy finishes but when I tone it down with powder it gives the perfect, glowing look to the skin.

On a scale of 1 to 10? 8, it’s a good product and I would recommend it as a tinted moisturizer to anyone, especially if you have dry skin.

Clinique Redness Solutions foundation review:

Hello Lovelies!

I’ve been experimenting with a bunch of foundations lately and I have to say, this one stuck out to me.

I absolutely love the formula! This is a medium, build-able coverage foundation that definitely reduces the appearance of redness and covers any acne related redness to the point in which concealer is barely needed. This is pretty long lasting and I don’t notice any creasing or fading (I always set with powder).

I myself don’t have much redness other than hormonal redness around the nostrils and on my T-Zone from a recent break out but if you have rosacea this would be really great for you!

This foundation reduces redness by having a lot of yellow undertones to it, so if you have a warmer undertone or more olive skin, this will be a great foundation for you. Unfortunately for us very pale cool toned people, this can come off too yellowy sometimes and I’ve had to take it off after applying on myself because some days it really just won’t look right on me, but I really love this foundation!

On a scale of 1 to 10? 9.5! I just wish they had colors that better suited cool toned skins, but besides that, this is excellent!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose Review:

This was another hyped up product that I got my hands on through the Sephora Insider Birthday Reward system. I actually also received the original formula but I’ve only really been using this one because of the rose tint.

I reviewed the Tarte Natural Lip-stain in moody and the formula slightly reminded me of that in the sense that this product seems to wear down fairly quickly.

I used this for about a week when my lips were pretty hydrated simply because the tint gives you a healthy flushed appearance to the lips and it feels like it’s still on the lips for a while after applying, which is impressive.

The downside to this is that this product never seemed to actually moisturize the lips or even sink in to provide any nourishment. I dried out my lips by using lots of matte lipsticks and my lip liners to put this product to the test and while it did take away the roughness of my lips and offer some smoothness to them, it really didn’t do much for me when it comes to being a lip balm.

On a scale of 1 to 10? 6, It does offer a little moisture to the surface but not enough to justify actually purchasing this product again for me.

If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to message me :)

Good luck!

Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara Review:

Hello lovelies!

So this mascara was pretty highly talked about for a while back and got some really great reviews. This mascara was a highly coveted product for me until I finally got a deluxe sample size from the check out goodies at Sephora to try it out.

The mascara wand itself is rubbery (which I love!), with bristles on the tip similar to Revlon’s PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara, though overall the bristles on the wand are less dense than Revlon’s.

The formula is definitely more lengthening than volumizing which was slightly disappointing but still very nice. The length was great and paired with a good volumizing mascara I think you can get great results.

With that said, I found this mascara can tend to sort the lashes into clumps, but they still look longer and more dramatic. The formula itself is very long wearing but if you tear up easily this probably isn’t for you unless there is a water-proof version.

Another gripe I have with this product is that it made my eyelashes feel frozen and cripsy, which is something I sometimes can deal with but really couldn’t this time.

If you want to try this, I’d recommend using the $10 trial version if you can find it at the check-out. Though this product wasn’t everything I expected, it’s not totally awful and I do use it on the tips of the lashes for added length.

On a scale of 1 to 10? 7, perhaps if there were more bristles it would have separated the lashes enough to avoid clumping.
